How a nationwide mold service actually works

One number, dispatch by ZIP, and independent certified crews. Here is the whole arrangement, including the parts most companies leave out.

Mold Free USA is a nationwide mold removal and remediation operator. That sentence usually hides a franchise map, so here is ours in plain terms: one phone line for the whole country, dispatch by ZIP, and every crew held to the same written standard.

We are not one shop with a very large service radius, and we do not pretend to be. The people who come to your house work for themselves, in the market they live in. What we add is the part a homeowner cannot check from the kerb.

Who does what

What Mold Free USA does

  • Answers the phone, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
  • Takes your ZIP and dispatches the crew that already works it.
  • Verifies certification, insurance and state licensing before that happens.
  • Holds every crew to IICRC S520, the industry standard for mold remediation.
  • Keeps the record: what was found, what came out, what the meter read at the end.
  • Takes complaints centrally, so you are not arguing with the only firm in town.

What the local crew does

  • Comes to the property, in their own van, with their own equipment.
  • Gives you the free visual assessment and a written estimate before opening a wall.
  • Sets containment and negative air, removes affected material, dries the cavity.
  • Pulls whatever permits and notifications their state and county require.
  • Re-reads the moisture and shows you the numbers before anything is closed up.
  • Bills you directly, at the price they wrote down.

What we check before a crew gets your address

The standard the work is measured against

Cover of the ANSI/IICRC S520 mold remediation standard

IICRC S520 is the industry consensus standard for mold remediation. In practice it is what turns “we cleaned it” into something checkable: the work area is contained and put under negative air, affected porous material is removed rather than painted over, what stays is HEPA-vacuumed and wiped down, and the cavity is dried to a meter reading before it is closed back up.

EPA guidance sits alongside it, and it is where the health language on this site comes from. Indoor mold can irritate eyes, skin, nose and throat, and can trigger asthma and allergy symptoms in people who are sensitive to it. We do not go further than that, and nor should anyone selling you a service.

Four things we will never tell you

  • That we are licensed nationally. Mold remediation licensing is a state matter. “Licensed where the state requires it” is the accurate sentence, so it is the one we use.
  • That the visit includes free laboratory analysis. What is free is the visual assessment and the written estimate. Sampling is a separate, quoted step, and it is usually unnecessary when growth is already visible.
  • That we can be there by a set time. That depends on where you are and what the crews in your market are already committed to. You get a real window on the phone, not a number invented for a web page.
  • That mold caused a specific illness. That is a question for a doctor with your history in front of them, not for a remediation company.

More of the practical answers — cost ranges, bleach, lab tests, insurance — are on the FAQ. Where we work is on the service areas page.

Where we are

Mold Free USA
1120 NASA Parkway, Suite 615
Houston, TX 77058

That is the dispatch office, and it is the only address we have. There is nothing to visit: the crews work out of their own vans in their own markets, so the only address that matters to a job is yours. Reach us on (866) 227-8190, any hour, or at [email protected].

Now the useful part: what is in your wall?

A certified crew in your area will walk the property, read the moisture and put an estimate in writing. The visit and the assessment cost nothing.
